The first Cincinnati Womonfest festival was a huge success.
For the next five years, the festival became more and more popular and eventually outgrew the daytime restrictions of the location. The leadership for the all volunteer committees changed hands from Jamie, to Chris Collier, then to Mary Jennings.
In 1999, the newly named Tri-State Womonfest was relocated to a larger, more secluded setting which could hold the 1000+ women who were coming to the ever-popular festival from Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and farther. The Cedar Hill Ranch was chosen for its size, beauty, privacy and diversity of wildlife.
After the 2003 festival, despite 10+ years of successful festivals, the volunteers organizing the festival decided to take a break.
In 2006, a new group of volunteers revived the event at the Mt. Airy Forest's Maple Ridge Lodge.Approximately 450 women attended during this rebuilding year and everyone said it was a huge success!
For 2007, another new group of volunteers, in collaboration with Women's Way, are working hard on making the festival this year be even more successful !!
The TriState Womonfest will again be hosted at the Mt. Airy Forest which is a great venue.
Parking at the lodge is limited, so please try to car pool with friends.
We are trying something new this year that has not been tried before - having 2 stages for artists to play on. So, there will be continous music for most of the day!
There will be food, games, workshops, movies, a professional photographer, lots of music, lots of vendors and crafts to make the day enjoyable and fun for all!
Come and enjoy the day with us!!
